SLO Piercing Website

Date

    Spring 2025

Objective

Redesign SLO Piercing’s website to improve navigation, reflect the studio’s true vibe, and create a more engaging user experience

Deliverables

Five-page interactive website prototype in Figma

Audience

Young adults, primarily with more alternative style preferences

In a team of three, I helped redesign the website and visual identity for San Luis Obispo Piercing, a local piercing studio known for its high piercing standards and welcoming but moody atmosphere. The original site was hard to navigate and didn’t match the vibe of their physical location, so we started by visiting the studio to get a feel for its true personality. This project was carried out in under two weeks of crunch time.
Using Figma, we built a new five-page website with interactive features like scrolling bars and image carousels to make information easy to find and the experience more engaging. Our design choices—pairing a bold blackletter font with Helvetica and a carefully chosen color palette—captured the studio’s clean yet warm atmosphere without feeling too gendered or themed. I also created unique patterns by tracing elements of our blackletter type, adding custom decorative touches that reinforced the new identity.
We made the homepage more scrollable and included clear links to other pages, helping users explore services, FAQs, and the team behind SLO Piercing. By focusing on both usability and personality, we delivered a site that feels as inviting and professional as the studio itself, and appealing to the target demographic of young adults.
